SQUARE PEGS IN ROUND HOLES : POST MORTEM OF THE 2019 MINISTERIAL LIST

After all the alleged pressure Mr President said he underwent in appointing his ministers, he has finally inaugurated his Federal Executive Council comprising of people he personally knew, at least according to Baba. If evil association corrupts good manners, I assume all these people are people with flawless character capable of delivering the next level; so, there should be no story of someone interfering with Baba’s sanity. Only sycophants, ethnic-centric, APC apologist, and gullible Nigerians who will feed from the crumbs on the table will call this the right choice. In fact, it is best described as a round peg in a square hole. Let’s put aside the lamentations concerning the wrong nomination. We all know the initial ministerial nomination list is an APC beneficiary list.

Less than 48hrs to the inauguration of FEC, Mr integrity arrived Zaria expressing gratitude to the people of Kano and Kaduna states. He also added that they have been well compensated with two ministers each for the mammoth votes they turned in for him at the last presidential election. When did Nigeria become a compensation scheme for a tribe? Is PMB the president of Nigeria or northern Nigeria? How will a man love his kinsmen more than the nation? I leave you to answer that.

In this same time frame, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, immediate past Governor of Osun state, Grandmaster of half salary and chief of many unfinished projects; he confessed that he knows nothing about the minister of interior portfolio that he was given. Can you see how the round peg cannot fit the square hole? You employed someone incompetent at a task, what do you expect. Anyway, Aregbe was sincere. If Baba has been sincere as him, telling us, he knows nothing about ruling Nigeria we might have helped him out. I think Aregbe strength is in the works ministry but he has been sent to the wrong direction. I hope he knows the ministry of interior isn’t solely for announcing public holiday like his predecessor did? How will Aregbe oversee the Prisons service, Immigration, NSCDC and other agencies under the ministry with his incompetence. Let’s just say he is currently undergoing his Industrial Training scheme at the ministry. Will Aregbe be able to deliver any level let alone the next level with his incompetence? A round peg in a square hole.

The ministry of power has been retrieved from Fashola. Years before 2015 he boasted that fixing Nigeria’s power sector isn’t rocket science. He failed woefully as Minister in that capacity. Nothing changed in Nigeria’s power sector throughout his first spell as minister. Gullible ones will say, “he had too much on his plate, three ministries isn’t easy nah.” How does that concern the average Nigerian?

Sunday Dare, the new Minister for youth and sports. Hehehehe. What do we say about a 53yrs old man as minister for youths and sports? Sheer incompetence! His closest affinity with sports was when he was a supporter of Shooting stars of Ibadan. When does supporting a football team equal competence in sports administration? A minister for sports that’s not sporty. No doubt he’ll be another failure like his predecessor. We hope he’ll be minister for sporta and not minister for football. Don’t be shocked this guys don’t know their job description. Another round peg in a square hole.

We expect another round of lies and psesudo image presentation of Nigeria with the return of Lai Mohammed to the information and culture ministry. Didn’t he tell us we have technically defeated Boko Haram? Didn’t he tell us PMB is a big favour to Nigeria? Another round peg in a square hole.

Godswill Akpabio, a former customer of the EFCC is now the boss of his former prosecutor, Festus Keyamo. What experience does Festus Keyamo has about the Niger Delta affairs? Perhaps they have been manned there to monitor the region producing Nigeria’s source of wealth. Unfortunately they’re both incompetent. In years to come, expect all manner of embezzlement from that end. Another round peg in a square hole.

The only achievement Ogbonnaya Onu can point out in his first spell as Minister of science and technology is the creation of science and technology awareness. I didn’t make that up. He said it by himself on the floor of the senate during his alleged questioning. Awareness is now an achievement, Nigeria is a joke. Let’s not even talk about Baba who has appointed himself petroleum ministry head again. There must be something he is enjoying there that we don’t know. To whom much is given, much is expected. Mr integrity has successfully surrounded himself with failures and fail will his second term be. We can already see it, even in the morning of his second spell.

Its visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that Adamu Adamu was a sheer failure in the ministry of education. Look around you, no stride letalone a giant one was made in our education system. We still have millions of out of school children, we are constantly losing our best brains to the western world, degradation of school infrastructure and incessant ASUU strike are manifestations of a failed educational system headed by Mr Ogbonna. Yet, he is back for another term. Another round peg in a square hole.

To be expecting much from this second term administration of Muhammadu Buhari is like waiting for a ship at the airport, it will never happen. As events unfolds, you’ll fully understand the mind of next level PMB is seeking to bring upon the land.

The truth is that competence has been sacked from the state House. These set of ministers cannot deliver the next level Mr. President promised, that’s if he actually meant what he said. For another four years, the team with the duty of building Nigeria will comprise of people with questionable character, void of knowledge that makes a nation in the 21st century work; a cabinet of gender imbalance and beneficiaries of the APC charity foundation. After all the delay, Nigerians got vanity and incompetence. There’s is no doubt this people will move Nigeria two steps forward and ten steps backwards. Einstein said, “it is insanity to do something one way and expect the same result all the time” (paraphrased). Nigeria’s biggest mistake was voting in this old man.

To be truthful with you, Nigeria cannot achieve much in this second term of President Buhari. I’m very optimistic that by 2023, we will all be back to this point, mummuring for a new Nigeria. It is only a winning team that doesn’t deserve to be changed. A failed team must be thoroughly restructured. If we don’t wake up now, they’ll kill us in our sleep and still sponsor our burial rites.
