RELIGION: A COPING MECHANISM AND A PAIN KILLER.

Nonye Anastesia

Every committed religious person I know seems (by appearance) to be so fulfilled, until I engage them in a deep soul conversation.

Kaboom, the vacuums on the inside will start splashing all over the place.

There’s little or nothing I could do to bring them out of such mental helplessness, since obviously they aren’t so mentally and emotionally ready.

Before now, I usually try everything to convince them that that which they seek “without” mostly lie “within” and until they tap into their inner world, their outer world will always attain certain level of confusion.

But recently, I now feel nothing but compassion for them as I have clearly understood that “the ability not to believe in a God outside oneself” is such a big privilege.
In a capitalist society, it will be hard for the poor or averagely comfortable not to “fanatically”believe and hold onto a God, because it’s easier to accept oppression when you believe something better awaits in the next life.

Most humans in poor nations (especially the oppressed) cannot mentally, emotionally and financially afford not to be extremely religious, because of the relief and opium it serves. Africa a case study.

People will be extremely, fanatically and myopically religious in an underdeveloped countries for the following few reason::
FEAR OF DEATH (Zero internal and external security in an oppressive society).
ZERO SELF-ACCOUNTABILITY (There’s a God in heaven that will forgive all the atrocities they must necessarily commit in other to compete and survive in a jungle society).
ENEMY CENTEREDNESS (The helpless steadily reach out to God to help fight for them and ensure that their enemies suffers here on earth and makes it to hell after death).

CONSOLATION (The oppressed; usually the POOR and the average; due to their inability to fight back oppression, leans towards life after life (heaven) for a consolation for their suffering).

FEAR OF FAILURE (Inconsistent policies). Etc
The heartless clergy men knows this and capitalizes on it to sell/offer false hope in exchange for what is left in the pocket of the common man.

Most of them have a great alignment with the oppressors behind closed doors. Remember it’s a jungle world.

Religion is a painkiller and it’s a privilege to be in a mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually and financially good place not to need that painkiller.

It’s such a long road that can’t even be exhausted just in mere writing.

It’s going to be a very tough battle to bring such mind to light. I was one of those that inherit the Christian god from my parents. If you want to see their wrath, stop believing in that god. It’s a big cult. I think religious is meant for the dumb not for the thinkers.
